Tooheys Rd Wildlife Underpass

An underpass is to be built along Tooheys Rd to aid wildlife crossing to either side of the park. This is a very high traffic area with many fatalities and near-misses. Horizontal poles will extend the length of the tunnel to give the koala a means of elevation while passing through. Planned to be 2.4m x 2.4m, it is hoped marsupials and macropod will utilise the safety of the tunnel. This follows another initiative from Brisbane City Council where an overpass was built at Whites Hill.
