November Bear Hunt

09th November 2025
Another great Bear Hunt held at Bullocky Rest. Read the full article

Everyone who attended our Bear Hunt knows now that a koala is not a bear!

Although the numbers weren't as high as we would have liked, there was still a reasonable turnout considering the forecast. Despite the weather forecast, the rain held off until we were packing up.

At least 7 koalas were found on the walk-about, with Tracy and Ann providing a commentary on koala facts as they guided people around the park. While making use of the free sausage sizzle back at base, a quiz session took place and prizes for things like guessing how many koala poo pellets were in the jar. Woolworths North Lakes kindly donated the bread and Lawnton Markets donated the onions. Thank you both.

On 9th November 2025, despite weather forecasts of inclement weather, which didn't eventuate till we packed up, another successful Bear Hunt was held. Yes, we know koalas are not bears. The whole purpose of these outings is to educate people on the koala with fun facts such as that. People were taken on a walk-about spotting at least 7 koalas in the Bullocky Rest picnic area. They were then treated to a free barbeque and prizes were given out for quiz questions on koalas. There was also a competition to determine how many koala poo pellets were in a jar.
