There was an amazing number of volunteers who turned up on what proved to be a hot day at Rob Akers, Bells Pocket Rd. Over 200 plants were scheduled to go into the ground. Half a dozen volunteers turned up on Saturday afternoon to dig the holes in preparation for Sunday. On Saturday, fertiliser was also dropped into each hole and an initial watering to wet things in.
On Sunday when the public invite was for, plants were planted, protected covers put on, two or three waterings for each plant and mulch put around the base of the covers. A well-earned morning tea was then provided for everyone to rest up and admire their handywork.
A big thank you to everyone who came along. See the gallery of pictures HERE
