Pizza in the Park

Getting together occasionally for a social gathering is a way to thank our dedicated volunteers for their hard work and to help keep morale up in what can be a depressing time, especially if the news is not good about an animal you've recently sent or delivered to the Wildlife Hospital. Normally, we assemble in a park and people bring a plate and a sausage is thrown on a free council barbecue, which is dished up with a slice of bread. This time, we had Domino's Pizza Strathpine offer to supply pizzas, garlic bread and soft drink. Luxury !!! Despite the great turnout, we had a little bit left over, so Daniel calculated the quantities wonderfully. Thank you to Daniel and the Crew at Strathpine for supporting us in this way.

While looking for Marbles, the local male koala, we came across what we thought was a sick koala. The bottom was looking very dirty, but it was getting dark, and she was too high to attempt anything. The untagged female was monitored for a few days, when it became obvious she was producing PAP for her baby (a special oily poo that builds up immunity in the joey). Below, the eye and nose peaking out of the pouch. it was a happy ending, all round.....
