Spiderman (aka Ben Stargatt) to the Rescue
- 12th January 2026
We were sent a video of a koala on the rescue phone which showed the koala limping very badly on his hind legs with an obvious gait. It was hard to tell if it was a leg injury or hip injury. The caller said they hadn’t actually seen the koala hit but was trying to move him off the road before another vehicle came along. Click the title to read the full article. |

Koala Doggy Doors
- 16th October 2024
Moreton Daily Article A life-saving ‘escape hatch’ for koalas has been developed, trialed and 16 are now operating beside roads in the Moreton Bay region. The Fauna Escape Hatch, nicknamed Koala Doggy Door, was devised and then tested for 12 months at Endeavour Veterinary Ecology (EVE) in Toorbul. Suspended aluminium or stainless-steel tines (prongs) hang from a frame, built into wildlife fencing, giving koalas a one-way route back to bushland. Website: Doggy Doors for Koala |
