Seen a Koala?
If you see a koala that is in danger, sick, injured or acting in an abnormal way, please call us immediately. Koala are arboreal (live in trees). Sleeping on the ground at the base of the tree indicates something is wrong.

If you see a koala that looks happy and healthy, please take some photos of it, along with photos of the tree they're in. Text them to 0401 350 799. We will need an address or map pin, in order to locate them. We carry out health checks on every koala reported, ensuring that no sick or injured koalas go unnoticed. The sooner a sick koala is sent for treatment, the better its chance of survival. Some of their diseases can make them infertile and can be transmitted to other koalas. We've had people say, "We don't want you to take our koala away, you don't bring them back."
We don't make any decisions, the trained veterinary staff at the wildlife hospitals assess each koala. Treatment is often started, but they don't all respond and continue to go downhill. We do everything in our power to see the koala come back to their place of capture and are just as upset as you when we get the bad news about one of our furry friends. Everyone forms a bond with the one they caught, which is why it's thrilling when you get to release them again.
